De origen precolombino, la arepa es una pequeña torta o pan que está elaborada a base de harina de maíz y es consumida de manera tradicional en Bolivia, Colombia y Venezuela.

Con una cucharada sopera sacamos partes de la masa y las echamos en otro bol con un poco de harina de maíz. Removemos y con las manos hacemos una bola del tamaño de un huevo que luego aplastaremos en forma de tortita (arepa)
- En una sartén caliente a fuego medio-alto echamos unas gotas de aceite y cocinamos cada arepa pintada con el huevo batido al menos 5 minutos por cada lado hasta que estén doraditas pero no quemadas. Retiramos y reservamos para comer solas o acompañadas de lo que queramos
